Virginia has been paddling all her life and sea kayaking since 2005. She loves any kind of adventure on the water—whether it is surfing long boats, splashing down whitewater rivers, practicing a new roll or J-stroking across a quiet pond—but she is especially passionate about kayak touring, the longer the trip the better! Virginia has kayak camped around lakes Superior, Huron and Ontario, Georgian Bay, Newfoundland, Maine, Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii, Thailand and New Zealand. Her best trip to date was a largely solo, seven-week jaunt along the entire Canadian shorelines of Lake Superior, the North Channel and eastern Georgian Bay in the summer of 2010. She also loves to share her paddling passion through instruction and mentoring—ask her about navigation, places to paddle, how long fresh avocados will last in a hatch, strokes and rescues, tips for pee zips, and any other tidbits of touring wisdom.
Ginny is a guest coach at Paddlepalooza 2014. She is also instructing on all of our Paddle Canada Level Two Skills courses this summer.
