Santiago has been involved in sea kayaking since 2005 as a commercial guide, coach, instructor and committed paddler in personal expeditions. His paddles –literally- had taken him to coastlines far and away like the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico, the Inside Passage in B.C, the U.S. west coast, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Florida, etc. Currently, he splits his time between Loreto, Mexico and Montreal, Canada where he operates Kayak Latins du Nord a company that focuses on high-quality instruction and worldwide expeditions. In Mexico he coaches and guides for Sea Kayak Baja Mexico, the only certified NDK center in Latin America and together they organize every October the Loreto Sea Kayak Symposium. Besides being fluent in Spanish, English, and French, Santiago is currently a BCU coach, Paddle Canada Instructor, Sea Kayak Instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), Leave No Trace Master Trainer, Certified VHF Radio Operator, and Wilderness First Responder.
We are thrilled to have Santiago as our local guide along with James and Dympna on our Saguenay Fjord Trip in August.
