“If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space!”
At least, that’s what her sons keep telling her. At the age of 11, her mom bought the first family canoe which quickly became Kris’s second (if not first) home and she hasn’t looked back since.
With the dawn of the new millennium came the dawn of kayaking for Kris. Since then, Kris and her kayak ‘Scotch’ have paddled the waters of P.E.I., Cape Breton, Bay of Fundy, Alaska, Yukon, Belize, and probably the world’s best fresh-water kayaking in Georgian Bay, Ontario.
Kris guides most of our Wild Women trips on the sparkling waters of Georgian Bay. She also coaches at Women on the Water.
Kris is a long-standing member and certified instructor with Paddle Canada and ORCKA as well as a Wilderness First Responder and Swift Water Technician.
She enjoys sharing her passion for being outdoors and teaching others how to be safe and comfortable while seeking new adventures and pushing the envelope, just a little.
Her motto – ‘life should fit into a kayak’.
